Ayr/Karaka scholarship

Aims of programme. 
Create an ongoing partnership with Karaka Cricket Club to provide an exchange of young players to facilitate their personal, coaching and playing development.
 
Undertakings of sponsor club:
Assess suitability of candidate
Fully prepare candidates for expectations of host club. 
Provide funding for return flights to NZ/Scotland. 
Provide funding for minimum level 1 or equivalent coaching qualification. 
Liaise with host club to ensure suitable accommodation, employment and transport (if required) is provided. 
 
Undertakings of host club:
To provide or arrange accommodation for the duration of the programme. 
To provide employment to candidate. Details to be confirmed before trip is finalised. 
To provide/assist with transport between accommodation and club/other facilities. 
To ensure smooth integration of candidate into host club and provide regular (minimum weekly) opportunities to play competitive cricket. 
To provide coaching opportunities with junior sections/teams. 
To liaise with sponsor club regarding progress of candidate over the season especially any problems.
 
 
Profile/commitments for candidates. 
Age 18-23 at date of travel
Playing regular first or second team cricket and performing at high standard. 
Must pass level 1 or equivalent coaching course before starting overseas period. Ideally have or looking to attain ECB level 2 or equivalent.
Must commit to at least a full season coaching at Sponsor Club in the year following. Specific duties to be decided by host cricket committee. 
If applicant is under 18 at time of applying the sponsor committee will speak with parents before making a decision.
