The Development XI finished off the season of senior cricket at Cambusdoon with victory over Clydesdale Cavaliers in the Sunday League. The Cavaliers batted first and got off to a flying start before the Cambusdoon bowlers found their range and managed to bowl the visitors out for 149. Callum Henderson top bowler with 3-28. In reply Cambusdoon got off to a solid start with 41 on the board when Andi McElnea departed for 23 followed shortly after by Robbie Henderson (16). Lloyd Jefferson was next to depart after an entertaining 24, before Matt Crawshaw saw the home team over the line with a fine innings finishing on 36no as they won by 5 wickets.

Victory in final Evening League match
The only senior game to be played this week was at Cambusdoon when the Development XI won their final Evening League game of the season against Weirs. The visitors batted first and were bowled out for 107, a figure they comfortably chased down in just over 11 overs for the loss of only two wickets. Andi McElnea top scoring with 34 not out.

Narrow defeat in Paisley
The Development XI suffered a narrow defeat in the Evening League tonight Tuesday when they travelled to Paisley to take on Kelburne. who batted first and scored 116-5 in their 20 overs, a total which proved just too much for the Cambusdoon men as they fell 3 runs short of their target, despite 42 from Matthew McClymont.

Veterans see Cambusdoon home
At Dumfries it was a combination of youth and experience that saw Cambusdoon complete a comfortable victory against Nunhom. The home team batted first and after a number of interruptions for rain their inning closed at 159-9 off 37 overs with young spinners Callum Henderson 3-46 and Harry Boyd 5-23 doing the damage with the ball. It was then the turn of the elder statesmen Niall McCrossin (49 no) and Douglas Johnstone (52 no) to see them over the line and they reached 122-2 before the rain returned to end the innings as they won on the Duckworth Lewis method.

The Development XI continued their recent good run of form as they beat Clydesdale Cavaliers at Cambusdoon on Tuesday night in the Evening League. In the Cavaliers reply they lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 100 on the nineteenth over.

On Sunday the Development faced Prestwick at Cambusdoon and scored 202-6 of their 40 overs. Chris Taylor with 34 not out and Matthew Cooper 33 top scoring. Their total was not to be enough as Prestwick comfortably reached their target with Michael Miller scoring 108 not out and Sam Coles 54 not out as they won with 8 overs to spare.

The Cambusdoon XI returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at home to Whiitehaugh. The visitors batted first and set a challenging total 213 for victory. A total they reached with 15 overs to spare thanks to an excellent 70 from Matthew McClymont who found good support from Robbie Henderson (32) and Chris Taylor (33)

The Development XI continued their recent run of good form with a thumping victory away to Vale of Leven, restricting their hosts to 99-8 with the wickets evenly spread between the bowlers, they raced to victory in only 8 overs, Ross McKelvie top scoring with 43 not out and good support from Matthew McClymont 29 not out.

The Cambusdoon XI travelled to Prestwick to take on St. Ninians in the Western Union Reserve League. The home team batted first and posted 258-8. Phil Stafford top scoring with 73, with good support from son Jacob 43. Lloyd Jefferson was pick of the Ayr bowlers with 3-68. Cambusdoon were always struggling in their reply with only Callum Henderson 65 making any impression on the home attack as they were bowled out for 165.

McCrossin stars in victory at the Tryst
The Cambusdoon XI were in the runs on Saturday when they visited The Tryst. Batting first they were in trouble at 31-3 before Niall McCrossin (153 n.o.) and Ross Mitchell (80) put on 227 for the fourth wicket as they finished on 319-5. The home team were then bowled out by the youthful Cambusdoon side which included six U18’s for 122 with Harry Boyd taking 4-33 and Ryan Parry 2-8.
