As part of the extensive re-evaluation and overhaul of the various playing conditions used in competitions run by the WDCU, the Murgitroyd Rowan Cup is the first to undergo a renovation as it falls into line with a number of international ODI rules with a simplified D/L system and utilisies the same playing conditions that will be in place at the national T20 finals day.

The principal elements of the playing conditions include:

  • Professionals are not eligible, overseas amateurs are.
  • Only one warning will be given for any bowler who bowls a head high full toss.
  • Wides will still be strictly administered, the line on the off-side and tight on the leg.
  • A 6 over powerplay will apply at the start of each innings with only 2 fielders outside allowed outside the 30 yard fielding circle.
  • No more than 5 fielders will be allowed outside for the rest of the innings.
  • A free hit will follow any foot fault no-ball.
  • If a match is abandoned after 10 overs of the second innings, a simplified D/L system shall be utilised to reach a result.
